Uniqueness as a way of being.
These are the key concepts that DIS will present at MICAM Milan from 15th to 18th September.
Eco-sustainability, flexibility and lightness are the central themes of the new SS20 collection that surprises for the variety of new models in which the sneakers have a starring role and for the new styles, all to be customised and handmade with the best leathers by expert hands of the Marche (Italy) craftsmen.
DIS Flexy is the line of formal men’s footwear made entirely of vegan leather (V-label certification, European Vegetarian Union) and characterized by particular flexibility and
lightness.
The line consists of 2 new shapes – 694 and 695 – on which 8 models are available, from the brogues to the derby to the double buckle and the moccasin.
Each model is characterized by being super flexible thanks to the ‘DIS Flexy’ construction which uses slip lasting method which involves the creation of a “sock”, stitched around the last like a sock before it is worked. It is normally stretched with a heated last and beaten by hand to shape it.
A breathable padded material is inserted between the sole and the lining to absorb shocks, and then the lining and insole are stitched onto the upper.
This construction method gives the shoe the greatest flexibility and comfort, as well as light weight, doing away with all the rigid components used in other types of construction. Moreover it has special anti-bacterial and anti-allergenic microfibre lining that allows the foot to breathe and for the rubber sole that replaces the leather one.
To complete this line, DIS presents a new sneaker in white vegan leather with a very light ́EVA ́ rubber sole, with a clean and essential
line. The color palette is the classic one of formalwear: black, dark brown, ultramarine blue and light brown.
The “DIS Flexy” line will be available for customization in sizes starting from 39 up to 46 in different width (E-EE-EEE), also in “private label” for large sartorial chains and premium boutiques around the World.
The sneakers collection is also enriched with new, lighter and more flexible models, among which the newborn Caracalla stands out, the iconic dress sneaker embellished by the figure of two-faced Giano, an ancient Italic divinity, which for DIS is the symbol that identifies change and which is engraved on the upper and also on the sole together with the lyric ‘Be different, be yourself’ that echoes to uniqueness and to always be oneself. Made with hand-colored leather, both in a single-color and two-tone version and with tone-on-tone contrasting combinations in a lively palette of red, purple, orange, green and corn-yellow in addition to the classic light and dark brown.
From the already consolidated partnership between DIS and Vibram Group, an exclusive capsule collection was born for the next SS20, in which the ancient craft tradition meets technological innovation, giving life to new models with a smart-casual style, where fine leathers are handcrafted blend with the sole thanks to the innovative Wrap & Go system.
This system designed by Vibram allows the sole to be glued to the upper, simply by heating the pre-applied glue and closing the flaps by hand.
The capsule presents a new last, the 920 on which 3 new styles are presented, with a formal attitude and a sporty accent.
The key style of this capsule collection is ‘Mercurio Vibram Edition’, with a super-light running tread and a construction designed to give the maximum comfort.
